Please support Toxics Targeting's on-going campaign to keep New York 100% frack-free

Please donate generously to support Toxics Targeting's highly effective campaign to safeguard New York from shale fracking hazards.

Greetings,

I write to thank each and every person who recently sent such kind words to me and my colleagues at Toxics Targeting. I also wish to express my deepest appreciation to all those who contributed financially to keep our New York Marcellus Shale Campaign moving forward.

Our research, advocacy and organizing efforts played a pivotal role in safeguarding our state 100% from shale fracking, at least for now. It is simply hard to believe how much we achieved by working so well together: http://www.toxicstargeting.com/MarcellusShale/full-feed/titles

New York's fracking fight is not over. Jon Campbell of Gannett News just reported that our state might have been on the verge of getting fracked just before the High-Volume Hydraulic Fracturing (HVHF) prohibition was adopted nearly a year ago. His reporting reveals the seamy, high-stakes politics of shale fracking.

Our Campaign is a Force to be Reckoned With

Our coalition of Fractivists proved that we constitute a formidable political force. You are associated with hundreds of groups, have diverse educational and professional backgrounds, represent incredibly prestigious institutions and hail from all over New York as well as nearly half the nation.

I invite you to scroll through the signatories to our most recent coalition letter. You are a truly impressive lot: Backgrounds of Coalition Letter Signatories and Coalition Letter requests that NYSDEC issue a Supplemental Findings Statement to prohibit all types of High-Volume Hydraulic Fracturing

If we do not continue to work diligently, New York will surely share the pollution fate of states where fracking is already underway. When critical publicly policy fights are won, it is imperative to preserve the victory against counter-attacks that are surely coming.

Please Donate Today

Toxics Targeting is not a membership organization. Our unique campaign utterly depends on the kindness of others. We literally and figuratively cannot do our work without you. Please donate as generously as you can today. Every contribution is enormously appreciated.

We are an environmental database firm with nearly 40 years of advocacy savvy. Your contributions support professionals who document contamination hazards, generate media coverage and coordinate thousands of elected officials, business leaders, grassroots groups and Fractivists of every stripe.

Fairy Godmothers and Godfathers, Guardian Angels and anyone who might be willing to make larger gifts can receive tax benefits. Please get in touch to learn how your support can be put to critical use. Call 800 286 9427 (800 2 TOXICS) or 607 273 3391.

For a $150.00 contribution, Toxics Targeting would search for two dozen toxic site categories on and around your home or any address in New York. Identified sites would be mapped and profiled in an Environmental Database Report. We would walk you through your report and answer questions about local toxic threats.

On-Going Efforts to Prevent "Gelled" Propane Fracking in Barton, NY

In conclusion, I implore you to stay focused on keeping New York 100% free of shale fracking, notably in Barton, NY, just west of Binghamton. It is incredible that Governor Cuomo has not rejected "gelled" propane permit applications received EIGHT MONTHS AGO.

That fight must be won. Keep calling the Governor. Promise that you will hold him totally accountable.

Use this Quick Action Guide to require the Governor to fulfill his promise to prohibit all types of High-Volume Hydraulic Fracturing in New York.

As you can see below, only a few miles separate our state from massive fracking activities in Pennsylvania that caused extensive contamination hazards.

New DEC Commissioner

A new DEC Commissioner has been nominated and will shortly face confirmation hearings. We might have an opportunity to identify important concerns that need to be addressed.

New Challenges Potentially Lie Ahead

I recently received a series of inquiries requesting our campaign's involvement in some matters that we have not worked on until now. Key decisions could be made any day that, for good or for ill, would have a huge impact on the future of natural gas development in both New York and PA.

I hope to be able to share more about this important matter very shortly.

Thank you so much for all your assistance.

Onward and upward.

Warmest regards,

Walter
