Greetings Fractivists,

I am immensely grateful to recall that eight years ago almost to the very day Toxics Targeting launched its quixotic grassroots campaign to keep shale fracking out of New York. We had zero support for our fledgling effort. We simply went to work when we realized that no one else could stop our state from getting fracked because Big Green Groups actually supported shale gas as a "bridge fuel." What baloney.

Against seemingly insurmountable odds, we ultimately organized tens of thousands of activists into a closely coordinated campaign that was instrumental in requiring Governor Cuomo to prohibit shale fracking throughout our state. As a result, we played a key role in winning one of the unlikeliest victories in American environmental history.

I was fortunate to meet so many incredible activists along the way. Thank you one and all for your dedicated hard work. To this day, not one natural gas production well has ever been fracked in New York. Bravo!

Our hard-hitting 24/7 campaign remains laser-focused on eliminating fossil fuel pollution. Toxics Targeting stopped gelled propane fracking in Barton, NY after we discovered Governor Cuomo only prohibited hydrofracking. Then we successfully refocused our research/advocacy/media outreach efforts to help kill more than $4.5 billion in fossil fuel projects, including the Constitution, Northeast Energy Direct and Northern Access Pipelines as well as Arlington gas storage facility.

This record of achievement is unmatched anywhere in the nation.

We are now battling Dominion New Market Pipeline, Crestwood Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage in Reading, NY and NG Advantage's proposed "virtual pipeline" in Fenton, NY.

We are also working to prevent extraction mining hazards under Cayuga Lake as well as to clean up New York's vast legacy of toxic sites and water pollution.

Unfortunately, the fossil fuel industry will never stop trying to frack New York and perpetuate the nation's addiction to their polluting products. That is why our fight has really just begun.
