Blessedly short note

4/22/2010

Greetings,

Many thanks to everyone who has helped crank up the heat to withdraw the Marcellus Shale draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement. We only need about 100 more signatories to reach our goal of 10,000.

Toxics Targeting just updated its Marcellus Shale web site: http://www.toxicstargeting.com/MarcellusShale.

We have made it much easier to:

  • Sign the coalition letter that calls for the withdrawal of the draft SGEIS,
  • Review our citizen action alerts,
  • Check out local, regional, national and world-wide media coverage of our work,
  • Watch videos of New Yorkers impacted by natural gas hazards and
  • Map oil and gas wells, geologic faults and "sensitive receptors" on or near any property in New York's Marcellus Shale formation.

Commissioner Grannis and Governor Paterson said this week that Marcellus Shale horizontal hydrofracking would proceed next year in New York.

Not if we can help it. Call and email them today as well as Environmental Protection Agency Region 2 Administrator Judith Enck.

Request the immediate withdrawal of the draft SGEIS. Express your concerns now.

Then try to pass local resolutions requesting the withdrawal.

Thanks, again, for your help.

Onward and upward,

Walter Hang
