Fwd: Executive Order No. 41 coalition letter for your review

After only a day and a half, there are nearly 1,000 signatories to the Executive Order No. 41 coalition letter. Thanks so much for your help. Pour it on.

I sent the letter to Governor Cuomo this afternoon. See below.

Onward and upward,

Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo
Governor, State of New York
The Capitol
Albany, NY 12224

Dear Governor Cuomo:

Please accept my congratulations on your inauguration. I wish your administration the very best.

I am pleased to provide a link to a coalition letter that thanks you for your "continuation" of Executive Order No. 41: Requiring Further Environmental Review of High-Volume Hydraulic Fracturing Combined With Horizontal Drilling. The letter also respectfully requests you to take several actions with regard to meeting the goals of that Executive Order.

In only one day, nearly 1,000 elected officials, business owners, environmental groups, religious leaders, students and citizens have become signatories to the letter. I will keep you updated as more individuals, officials and groups sign it.

The letter requests you to require your Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to:

a) Convene both a Citizens and a Technical Advisory Committee to guide DEC in its efforts to fulfill Executive Order No. 41;

b) Accept public comments for no less than 30 days regarding how DEC should revise the draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement; and

c) Adopt four key policies that would help safeguard New York's environment and public health from potential natural gas horizontal hydrofracturing hazards.

I trust you will find the letter self-explanatory. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about it or if I can otherwise assist you.

Thank you for your consideration.

Very truly yours,

Walter Hang
