Mr. Martens, Ms. Enck,
I am writing to strongly encourage you to call upon Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to expand the scope of the Marcellus Shale Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement (SGEIS).
This is a crucial requirement for fulfilling Executive Order No. 41's mandate to "analyze comprehensively the environmental impacts associated with high-volume hydraulic fracturing combined with horizontal drilling..." as well as "ensure that such impacts are appropriately avoided or mitigated..."
With so many alternative methods and choices for energy, it is imperative for all of us to encourage research and development of CLEAN ENERGY!! Hydrofracking in its current process is dangerous and the total effects are still unknown; but we DO KNOW that it potentially could ruin our fresh water resources...not a risk I am willing to take.
NO HYDROFRACKING in the Finger Lakes...NOT NOW....NOT EVER!!
Thanking you in advance for your support...
Sincerely yours,
Cindy W
